I have a AEG competence double oven, model number is D4100-1M.

When running the fan oven in the bottom oven, once cooking has finished, 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time as soon as you switch off the temperature dial it trips the fuse box in the house. It doesn’t seem to happen when running any other oven function i.e. Conventional oven, it only occurs when using the fan oven.

It’s strange because the fuse box doesn’t trip when you turn the fan oven on or during cooking, it’s only when you switch the oven temperature off does it trip

All of the individual switches (including the switch that says oven) on the fuse box remain in the upward position. It’s just the main switch that is down.

Any idea what is wrong? Could we need a new oven? Was brought in 2002.

    Re: AEG oven fault

most of the time tripping in a cooker is one of the elements with low insulation
on your cookers there are a lot of them.
try the oven in all modes and see if it trips. your main oven can be used in fan oven mode (using single element at the back) and also convection mode ( using upper and lower element). the grill cavity can also be used as a grill and also as a small oven

I find a lot of the lower elements fail through lack of use as elements can get damp if they are not used for long periods of time

only trips when switching off the temperature control after using the fan oven. The fan oven gets used at least 3 times a week.
