There is a problem with using the ‘Cottons’ function. For some time the machine would not start and I would get the —- error signal. I switched off and started again. Second time the programme worked. However it does not start at all on Cottons even after several attempts. But the machine does start and perform normally on any of the other programmes (eg ‘Synthetics’)

Have had that problem on some zanussi machines where the display panel and computer boards are separate and joined by a ribbon cable. Remove ribbon cable and turn on wait 5 secs then turn off again. Push both end of the ribbon cable on and off a few times to make sure of a good connection then try again
