ParticipantHi, I have a ZWD1271W
The washer is filling with just a bit of water, when the washer is empty you can seen about 3″ of water in the bottom of the drum It is running through the whole wash programme but not intaking any more water even when on rince it is only taking the same amount of water (not enough) It’s seems to be pumping out longer like it thinks it’s not empty it also seems to be spinning for longer that normal. There are no error codes coming up & it is heating the water. :bang:
Thank you for any help, Rebecca.April 10, 2017 at 2:32 pm #446720Martin

Can I just ask, how do you know the level of water being as there must be clothing in the drum at the time AND the door is locked? With clothes in the drum you wouldn’t see any water at all in there normally.

Hi Martin,
The washing was coming out dingy, and not feeling rinsed properly. I watched it fill and it normally takes on some water then does a few turns and then filles some more. It isn’t filling as it should. I then started it with nothing in it to see how much water it was taking on and it doesn’t fill any more even when you put it on different settings including the rinse setting Thank you again for your help.April 10, 2017 at 6:04 pm #446722Martin

It will fill with far less water when no clothes are in the drum. The amount of water it fills with are directly related to the level of load.
The problem you are experiencing is NOT that it isn’t filling with sufficient water but more likely that the circulation wash pump is not pumping water into the drum. The usual reason is that the water nozzle/hose that pumps water into the drum from the top of the door seal is blocked with gunge so no water is circulated through the clothing as it tumbles. To check that simply observe through the door glass for the cascade of water emiting onto the clothing as it tumbles. Can’t see any water? then it is a blockage needing investigation. 😉

Hi,
It has always washed perfectly until recently when I noticed the laundry coming out feeling like it’s not been rinsed properly and it looks dingy and it never has before also with the same wash load in and on the same programme it’s not taking on the normal amount of water for that load. You never on any programme or cycle you can’t see any water on the glass. We have had the washer from new so know it should be taking on more than it is.
Thank you for your help.April 10, 2017 at 7:50 pm #446724Martin

Hi Martin,
Yes I have checked the pump for the water in the drum and it is working as it should. My husband has taken the top off took the vacuum hoses off and blown down all of them no blockages in any. Water is free flowing and powerful into the 3way valve. He also took off all hoses from 3 way valve and blown down all of those as well 1 of them had a very slight bit of pressure we then ran a wash and bits of dirt was in it so then we put a washer cleaner through nothing has made any difference. My husband is thinking of changing one of the pressure switches but doesn’t know which one. If you know the electrical values of the pressure switches he can test them. Which switch would you suggest we change first? or do you think it could be something else?
Thank you for your help.

Change the smaller of the two pressure switches as that is the one more likely to fail. 😉

Hi Martin,
Very many thanks. There is one on it’s way. I will let you know if it sorts it out.
Kindest regards
