A few days ago the bottom of my lamona hja8630 started filling with water between uses. It would empty completely during a cycle and otherwise had no problems. Now when I trun it on it sounds like the motor is running but no water is coming into the machine, it runs for over an hour without the cleaning door opening. The water is also no longer pooling at the bottom. It seems two opposite problems but I’m guessing they are linked? Any ideas on what it could be? I’m not handy at all but money issues mean I’m willing to have a go!

the unit has overflowed into the base, the float in the base to prevent flooding has operated and the pump runs continuously. you have to remove the water from the base to lower the float but then have to find the reason why its filling up

Thanks, that makes sense, I couldn’t understand how both problems could be related but I’ve never thought much about how dishwashers even worked before today! I’ll investigate how to drain the base and reset the float. I appreciate your quick reply, gives me something I can be getting on with tonight.

Happy to hear suggestions from anyone who has an idea why it’s filling up in the first place then.
