Hi I have a stoves gas cooker and when I turn the knob on my main oven it doesn’t ignite
It trips all the sockets, I had an engineer come out as we have insurance on the cooker and they have said it’s the FSD, but today I telephoned the place where I purchased the cooker from and they said it wouldn’t be that it would be the solenoid valve? I would appreciate anyone’s input.
    Thanks

Its really impossible to tell without a wee bit testing to see which component is shorting. Could be the solenoid, basically a coil that when energised turns into a magnet pulling up the gate to allow the gas thro, could be the ignition switch, the ignition transformer ( spark generator ) or even a faulty with the clock or cooling fan which all come into play when the main oven’s switched on, I suggest you get a second opinion by someone with the correct testing equipment ( an insulation tester/ megger ) and who knows what hes looking for to identify the correct component, guessing and throwing parts at your oven until you, by chance, find the faulty component, is an expensive technique for repairing.
