    Hello- can anyone help?

I have a Smeg oven, which works very well, except that it keeps turning itself off.

I’ll be cooking away, and suddenly the digital clock face (which is also the timer) will go completely blank and the oven will switch itself off (the fan still goes so it’s not the power cutting out- normally the fan stays on for about 5 mins after the oven is turned off). When the clock comes back on it will be flashing “00:00”, and the only way to get the oven on again is to reset the clock.

Does anyone know what this might be? Any advice v gratefully received.

Wiring, terminal block, timer itself are all likely suspects, possibly the commutator switch as well come to think of it. 😕

If you’re not sure don’t attempt it.

Do you know how I can go about getting it fixed? (how to find someone who could do it and how much it might cost). We inherited the oven with the house so we don’t have any warranty from Smeg.

There should be someone there who can help. if not pop up your postcode and I’ll see what I can come up with 😉
