ParticipantHi,
I’ve been out to take a look at this Miele dishwasher as a favour. As a rule I don’t work on Miele.
As it turns out, I can’t remove the dishwasher at the moment, bespoke kitchen and a kitchen fitter is needed.
When i tested it, it filled and then timed out, with the first left light flashing, inlet/drain, I think. The water was too high and touching the spray arm.
Now if this was Bosch I would just replace the flow meter but having looked at the spares available there is also a water pressure switch.
Does anybody have any experience of this machine and what part I need to price for. Thanks
Nick

They fill on the flowmeter as far as I remember & the pressure switch is a heater control, ie:- it protects the heater from working if there is no water pressure from the circulation pump.
Have had a few of them with blocked impellors causing no pressure from circulation pump, not too bad a job to dismantle to be honest once you get it out of kitchen unit.
Send me your e-mail address & i’ll send you some info that may be of help ..June 8, 2017 at 11:58 am #447601grooster

Just to bring this subject up again. The customer was away on holiday and I’ve been out to fit the flow meter this week.
The flow meter definitely made the machine actually start up. The original fault was that it would start up as normal, drain and then fill. It would seem to overfill until the inlet/drain light flashed.
With the new flow meter it would fill up and start to spray and work but it is still putting in too much water.
The water is touching the spray arm. I tried it on the pre wash and it still works but just doesn’t empty all the water in time at the end and as such if you were to put it on a normal wash, it would fault when it tries to refill.
Does anybody have any idea what could cause it to overfill other than the flow meter.
Thanks

but is it overfilling ?
does it wash ok. remember as it begins to wash some of the water will be in the internal tubes which lowers the tub water
as for the drain there is normally a removable cover inside the filter tray.
1 is it blocked
2 is it fitted ok as it wont drain as quickly if its notDave

Yes, it’s definitely overfilling. The spray arms can hardly move because of the amount of water and if you were to move the machine slightly (when out of the built in position) the water over spills from the door.
When I originally went to see the machine I checked the pump and the non return float, along with any floating blockages, but nothing.
Like I say, originally it would just overfill to the point where it wouldn’t bring the motor on but just fault on you. Now it fills a little lower and sprays ok but way too high and it will time out draining before it refills.June 9, 2017 at 1:05 pm #447604eastlmark

those older ones do have a level pressure switch. Pressure chamber can be removed by unscrewing the support for the lower spray arm. can be done in situ.

That’s great info Mark, I’m going back on Wednesday, I’ll have a look at this.
