Freezer has been humming away in the wee hours for quite a long time – way after the door was last shut and you would have thought the internal temp was correct. It is not having a problem maintaining temperature.

This is an AEG Arctis frost free I believe. The photo is the top of the unit with the door opened. The top of the inside is not for food – the first tray is a little lower – gray in the photo.

I’m thinking it may not be economical to repair, but thought I could run it past you first. I looked at this a long time ago and a failing defrost heater possibly fit the bill.

The actual storage area is fine, stays cold, doesn’t ice up.

Any other info you need, am happy to provide.

Full defrost, 24 hours with the door open at least then restart it. See if that cures it.
