ParticipantHello
We have a Samsung side-by-side fridge freezer, model RSG5DURS, purchased Nov2010. It’s been fine up till now, but the last few weeks, we’ve discovered the display panel on the outside is saying -18degrees, but the actual freezer temperature is fluctuating between around zero and -5We’ve tried resetting it by switching it off and on. That usually means the display reflects the correct temp for awhile, but eventually returns to the incorrect display of -18
We’ve so far had two different engineers look at it who have done things like cleaning the fan out, rear vent, etc. But neither could find any actual problem. The second engineer did various diagnostics on the display panel and the PCB but could detect no errors.
We left the whole fridge freezer switched off overnight with the door of the freezer open, to ensure nothing was actually frozen up and blocked, but that hasn’t helped either.
Any suggestions – apart from buying a new one?
Thanks

ParticipantHi, I have very similar symptoms fluctuating between 0 and -12C with -5C being the normal. Unlike many forums I can’t seem to contact you but if you happen to come across this then I wonder if you could tell me what your problem was in the end. Many thanks.

If you click on the username next to the post there should be an option to send a private message.

ParticipantI can’t find an option I’m afraid. Under “about” it gives all the details of posts and various links but no option to contact/send message like other forums unless I’ve missed something! Regards Tim

That’s odd as I get a ‘Private Message’ button in the Activities tab.

ParticipantThanks I have no idea how I missed that, amazing! After all that of course I got the inevitable response:
” ElaineS127 has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.”
Ah well I tried and thank you for helping a person who obviously can’t see the wood for the trees!
