ParticipantHi all!
Well I appear to be having some issues with my Liebherr ICBN 3066 integrated fridge freezer. I have noticed the compressor appears to be on almost all of the time of late and ramped up to its highest speed. the freezer is showing -18 which it is set at however the fridge wavers in temperature. It is set at 5 however it fluctuates between 5 and 8.
Can anyone suggest any pointers I can look at – or is there a diagnostic mode for this model?
Thanks!

UPDATE:
OK so I thought I would empty the appliance and inspect. I removed the cover to the freezer evaporator – all looks fine here. No ice build-up and the drain channel was clear.
I then set about dismantling the fridge compartment. Now then – when attempting to remove the middle glass shelf it was clearly stuck. When I dislodged it there was an instant hissing sound and it appeared the rear wall expanded to relieve some pressure build up! The hissing lasted a few seconds after which I set about removing the rear wall cover / fan assembly. On removal there was no sign of ice just condensed droplets of water across the rear compartment surface. But the rear compartment wall does appear to be bowed out into the compartment. I can push it back and found where the hissing sound was emanating from a tiny crack in the top left corner of the back wall.
Is this normal?!

The unit has developed a gas leak in the fridge pipework and is unrepairable.

Not impressed – this thing cost well over £1k!

Do you have the service number or the index, found on rating plate inside unit.

The service number is 9988768.
Can the freezer be used independently do you know? I guess I could try to recoup something back by selling parts perhaps. Huge outlay for a fridge freezer I would have expected to last longer 🙁

I believe the unit is an index 20-001 if I add two zeros to complete the service number, which makes the unit 10 years old, with a production date of 29-1-2007 to 9-4-2007,
The freezer and fridge share the same compressor and cooling circuit, turning off the fridge may prolong the freezer for a few days, but it has had it I am afraid.July 10, 2017 at 8:04 pm #448845machineage

Thanks Tony
Well that’s the last time I shell out so much for a fridge freezer LOL! There was me thinking Liebherr were the muts nuts!
The code is suffixed -09. There are also labels on some internal parts dated 2009 – so I would assume that is the DOM.
I’m appalled that is is effectively unrepairable after 8 years given the cost of purchase. I’ll be sending my thoughts to Liebherr in the morning!
