ParticipantHi there,
New to the Forum but hope someone out there can help. This morning the fairly plastic door handle on my dishwasher (Hygena AHY8102) snapped off completely.
Two questions please, firstly can I get a replacement part for it, and if so where?
Actually, three questions, and if I can get it, is it within the capabilities of your average housewife (whatever average is) to fit it?The dishwasher itself is in good working order and with six kids to wash dishes for, I need this fixed pronto!
Very grateful for any help.
Thanks
Sacha

Door handle is Β£9.75 inc VAT and delivery Sacha.
Generally 5-7 working days lead time on MFI spares, so it may be time for the washing up liquid π
If you’d like one, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk please.
As for fitting it, the control panel needs to come off to gain access, so please pull the plug before attempting :zap:

Dave,
Wow, what a service. Many thanks for that. Will get an email off now for the spare part; have my marigolds at the ready, and leg it down the shops for bulk supplies of washing up liquid!
Oh, yes, and I’ll definitely take the plug out first!!
Thanks again,
Sacha π

Handle came away on our machine (it split in two) trying to get a new one but no luck so far.
You can still use the machine and open the door.
Remove the top panel by undoing the top 6 screws inside the door. If your door is shut open it by:- look through the gap where the handle goes and you will see a square hole. You will see through that hole a flat piece of nylon half coving the hole. You need to pull that nylon towards you at the same time pulling the door towards you. It sound complicated but itβs easy. Even easier after you have the top panel removed.
Hope this is of help

ModeratorOperating a dishwasher that is plugged into the mains electricity supply while the top panel is off, or by putting your finger into a hole and pulling, is most definately not recommended.
Please do not follow this advice as it is dangerous and may result in the electrocution of yourself and/or your family.Craig

Hi John,
To recommend something like that could prove fatal! :zap:
Operating a live appliance with ANY wiring exposed to touch is just a huge no-no… period! All you need is a bit of dampness in there, spillage from teh worktop above maybe and it could well be “Goodnight Vienna” for some poor person.
You are prodding bout with your finger in an area where there is live mains current, totally blind to any potential hazard.. highly dangerous at best.
I cannot stress enough, DO NOT DO THIS!
The door handles are readily available for these machines and they’re not even that expensive either, certainly a lot cheaper than taking your life in your hands every time you use the dishwasher.

im no expert but
if thinking of right one , the 2 hooks go in easy at top but u have to have patience and put facia and handle back on together but get bottom catch of handle to go into door lock as u put it togther , as well as all the bottom catches on the pannel, somtimes pulling the handle abit as u put them together helps. taking the ridged section below pannels helps.
you know when u done ok as door handle is near flush with pannel and pannel is in tight at bottom and top and handle has some tension don,t force it hehe and buy a stress ballJune 23, 2008 at 1:47 pm #132752dave111
ParticipantKarv, thank you for your help.

If there is anyone in London (near NW7) can fix this let me know.
Thank you in advance. -
