This is an SOS call!! My dishwasher has packed up – it’s a siemens s9g1s, model se25m851GB/79. It first started not doing anything when it’s switched on, then i removed the top and left side and i nudged that small red rod up a bit and the pump activates. Its seems to be stuck with a bit of gunk in there but i can’t fathom how to take that bit off and clean it. Second part of the issue is that when i push that rod up it’s not filling with water – i’m guess it should do when i pull that rod up? Any help / advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

the rod is attached to a float that is a safety device when the base floods. by pushing it up you will stop it filling as the unit is going into fault mode
tell me what happens when you set a programme
does it start to fill etc

cheers Dave, have now managed to unplug the waste attached to it, pull the whole pressure chamber up and remove the wires. Have flushed it all out and cleaned it and put it all back – it’s now working. Think i’ll buy a new pressure chamber though as i can still be loads of gunk in it. Oddly enough direct from siemens website seems to be about 12 quid cheaper than espares after delivery.

get that a lot. had a customer recently about to order a miele spare from them, so after I told him to ring miele, it saved him £40
also I assume you mean part number 493409
never had to buy one. with care you can take it completely to bits and clean it. done hundreds of them

oh right. i can’t fathom how to take the thing apart at all. I’m trying to take the black bit off the top which seems totally wedged in.

its clipped in with 4 plastic clips. with a little bit of juggling with small screw drivers you can unclip each one and take the top off
you can see one of the clips. from this picture there may be only 3 of them
remove the micro switch and the arm underneath take a good picture before you start so you can re-assemble

gotcha. cheers. was able to do it – bit of force needed too. washed the whole thing out in full fat coca cola then soapy water, assembled it and now doing a dishwasher run. clean as a whistle.
looks like i might be cancelling my order!
thanks for your help.
