ParticipantI purchased an fridge evaporator fan upgrade kit with temp sensor to help with temperature issues , however as I work away ,it arrived to late for me to fit initially.
I returned home last week and went on a short holiday , however on my return to our house our Samsung RSH5UBMH, had gone into fault and we lost some food etc .
This is were my problems start and am looking for some advice on possible rectification or further parts .
I fitted the new fridge upgrade kit and the sensor that was included (although there were no instructions to do so) . Once replaced I noticed the old fan assembly /cover was a lot heaver than the new one , so the suppliers were right it was full of moisture and probably needed changing.
Basically when I powered up the fridge , it stated fault 23 E , which I believe relates to condenser fan failure .I then reset (holding 2 x buttons ) and it then Went through the cycle appeared to be cooling down to desired temp pf -20 and 5 deg and switched of when they were reached .However albeit both compartments were cold , they definitely were not that low . Also I noticed that the door surround was very hot and the compressor was loud and a bit hot also (maybe its working really hard initially).
I carried out the following checks after finding condenser fan not turning.
Checked voltage at fan = 0v DC
Checked voltage at main PCB fan output =0v DC
Paralleled up the connections of the fan with the evaporator fan = The fan is running ok (obviously switches of when door is opened). As , above the test concluded the fan itself is not faulty , it appears that either the main board is for some reason not outputting voltage (condenser fan only)to drive the fan. Could it be a sensor input is stopping this ?
Basically with the fan connections doubled up ,the door surround is not as hot , but my problem remains that the once the fridge /freezer has gone through a cycle and apparently achieved set point temperature , the compressor/condenser stops making a noise/working , and the fridge/freezer dont maintain temperature . Also the evaporator fans are not turning either , when are doors open or close .It basically just sits doing nothing , but lights,Display, door alarms etc still work
However if I wait a few hrs , cycle power , it will go through the same process display fault 23 E etc .
Help 🙂
Have I overlooked something or could it be something to do with the new kit ?Your help would be much appreciated . -
