    Hi

My dishwasher wont drain so i took out the pump to clear and test.

    the resistance is .197

But the continuity test failed . Looking at various videos they all say test the resistance only should the continuity test pass on a drain pump? I dont have a working one to test

Some cheap multi meters won’t show continuity on certain components.

As for resistance then the make and model of the appliance would be a help.

If the reading you are giving is in ohms then that is about right for most pumps.

Pumps don’t fail electrically that often, it is far more likely to be a supply fault or a physical fault in the pump.

Hi, its a Rangemaster RDW6015FI the pump is a 012G5040004.

Ive looked at the pump and physically – Anything to look for?

Im not sure how to test the supply as there is no drain function on the dishwasher that i could run to test it

when you first put the dishwasher on the pump should run ,have you checked that the impeller is revolving okay and not obstructed ?

    Hi

The impeller is moving as expected.

Does the drain pump run even at the start of a program? I thought it would run at the end of a program.

If it should run at the beginning then i can hook back up and see if it runs

Dishwashers always do a pre drain before filling
