    Miele W827, bought c. 2001 by last flat owner, has stopped after a loud bang, when switched on, the rinse light flashes. I see from the forum, this has happened to other machines & though ancient, it would be great to keep this one going. Any advice on likely cost of repair / whether repair is worthwhile for a machine of this age?

    Maybe track on circuit board blown, rinse light flashing normally denotes motor failure, brushes badly worn may have caused sparking/arcing of armature which may have been the crack you heard.
