    Hi,
Having a problem with the red light for checking the brush come on when vacuuming on tiled or wooden floors and it is hard to push as if the brush is firmly down. It feels the same resistance on the front door mat but the light doesn’t come on. The up and down lights illuminate and it seems to go up and down ok as no resistance when upright.
I changed the standard brush for the one suitable for hard floors but it’s just the same.
Is there anything I can do or does it need to go for repair and if so is it worth it. Finally, if worth it is there anywhere in Manchester that repairs these please?

    Hi

Page 5 of the operating manual here deals with brush roller. I would think if there is no obstruction then the up / down mechanism may be at fault.

These are definitely worth repairing as they are still the best cleaner on the market. If you can’t find a local repairer phone Sebo on 01494 465533 who should be able to advise.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi Don,
Thanks for the advice; I gave them a call and went through a few checks over the phone but was told that the brush I fitted was the wrong type. Whilst I was certain this fault occurred with the old brush, I refitted it and it’s ok, no light and much easier to move.
On a side note … As all our floors are either tiled or wood, do you know of any upright vacuums without the roller brush please?

No but some like the Vac U85 and the Dyson ball machines you can turn the brush roll off. Or it’s going to be a cylinder cleaner.

Thanks, will have a look, not keen on a cylinder.

That’s the very point of these Sebo vacs, their ability to clean wooden and tiled floors as well as rugs and carpets. The combined action of brush and suction gently removes dirt, dust, hairs and fluff from not only the surface area of the wood and tiles but also the groove and gaps. Whereas a suction only floor tool can and will scratch the floor (especially wood and vinyl) as it is in direct contact with the floor.

    Sebo X4 every time ! 🙂

Not sure how the brush of the SEBO isn’t directly in contact with the floor?
