ParticipantHi All
I know that this is an old machine but the customer still wants it repaired so I will do so.
This machine has blown the origanol motor so I have got him a new replacement, the only problem is that the motor connectors are different, the old one is a straight line of 6 pins where as the new one is 2 rows of 3, it appears that I can get a new connector to splice into the loom but just wondered if there was any conversion instructions available.
Thank you
Jem

where did you get the motor from
early ones had 2 rows of three all the late ones had inline connectors
ie have you got the correct motor ?
Dave
ps its normally armature that fails and they may be able to be swopped

Have scanned the 1992 manual motor connections and emailed you a copy. 🙂
AFAIK the ARM 20 armatures are NLA. 🙁

As the armature wasn’t available I ordered QUAMTR134 which was listed as the motor for this machine.
Many Thanks Jim, I will read that when I get back in.

If your replacement motor has the old style two rows of three then it suggests a very old motor that has been refurbished.
Correct gen motor replacement would be an FHP motor.

its should be fairly easy to work out
2 armature leads, 2 field leads and 2 tacho
for the 2 armature you can measure to the brushes
tacho is a higher resistanceonly problem will be rotation, if you reverse either field or armature wires motor will go in wrong direction and I am not sure if that will have an effect. some machines have a raised sump hose that helps water discharge on spin but it got to be turning in the right direction
if the old motor still works check spin rotation and check new motor is the sameDave
