    Hi
I have read a couple of earlier threads on this oven but they do not address my particular problem.
I have an Electrolux EOB5630W that throws the breaker when I turn the control to ‘oven’ and then turn on the temperature. I have removed the circular heating element, isolated the 2 wire ends, turned it on and it till throws the breaker.
Everything including the fan fan works if the ‘grill’ or ‘thaw’ are selected and the temperature turned on.
I am beginning to think it may be the selector switch though I cannot see any visible problem.
The cooling fan control shows signs of blackening, but since the fan works on other settings I did not think that would be the problem.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mark

disconnect all the elements and see from there. you get back feed with electric and it can get confusing

Thank you Dave. Will have to wait for my wife to be back at work as her computer gets shut down when it blows. BTW it is an rcd, which I am not familiar with.

An RCD measures currents to earth. if there is a current to earth exeeding 0.030 Amps it will trip.
so a leakage from a faulty element is enough to do it

    Thanks Dave
I tried grilling and it lasted a minute or so and the rcd threw after all.
Shall I now conclude that it is indeed the fan control that shows signs of blackening?

its more likely to be an element than anything else. try isolating the grill element and re connect fan element and see if that trips
