After an overnight program, the drain pump was constantly running and water in the bottom. The external drain was blocked. After fixing the waste drain the pump still runs when switched on. After a previous problem (12 years ago) I checked the circuit board and found a dry joint. Re-soldered the relay but the pump still runs. Is there a flood switch on this model or is the problem more serious? I would like to keep this old machine going if possible. Thanks for any suggestions.
The plastic base is flooded. Can be temporarily overcome by un-plugging power and slowly tipping backwards (only backwards mind) until the water in the base floods out onto the floor. Have towels ready to catch the water!
That will clear the problem but clearly your aged machine wants for a good service and closer inspection for potential internal leaks.
