Hi all,
I have a Panasonic combination microwave model NN-CT579S. After a brief power cut during a lightning storm, the turntable and the interior light no longer work.
The microwave still heats as it should, as long as you turn more solid stuff and stir bigger quantities of liquids every now and again.
I’ve replaced both the bulb (which looked well burnt out) and the turntable motor but not much joy. The new bulb does not work (but tests for continuity OK), and the turntable does work, but only when the door is opened. While not a total novice with power circuits, I’m wary of testing components with the cover off, what with the potential for big shocks and self cooking. Before I spend any more time, is it still worth trying to repair ?
It’s only a couple of years old.
