    Hi,

    thanks for the site – very interesting to read – just wish I’d know about it a long time ago…

    I’m living in Hungary and fitting out a new kitchen (gas hob, electric oven, fridge – later dishwasher & freezer). So far, I seem to have a choice of manufacturers (Bosch, Whirlpool and Siemens) from the local Comet equivalent (Media-Markt – the same company as Makro/Metro). Naturally, the model numbers over here don’t seem to correspond to anything that I have seen available in the UK.

    From the kitchen furniture suppliers though, I’m being pointed towards Whirlpool, Fagor or LaGermania. Does anyone know anything about their products ? The only information that I found in English was via Austrailian and Philipines based resellers.

    I’ve not seen many LaGermania machines as they are pretty low profile in the UK but from what I know of them they’re okay.

    Fagor is bottom end stuff and Whirlpool generallyis regarded as slighlty better than that.

    On a scale of ‘not a snowball’s hope in hell of me buying that’ to ‘the dog’s bollox’, where does ‘okay’ rate exactly ? 😉 What other manufacturers have this rating ?

    More specifically, what do you think of :

    Gas hob : P6401MX or P6801MX
    Electric Oven : F651 D4X

    OK is usually 6 out of 10. Product largely unknown in UK, so extensive responese not to be expected.
