    Good afternoon,

Wondering if there is an “official way” of renewing the above rubber hose and plastic sleeve on the above washer/dryer?

The original was split and leaking, and I attempted to remove and renew the above in situ’ before deciding it was impossible to do so.

So, I removed the inner drum hoping to be able to fit relatively easily.

However, I’ve now created a small split in the new hose trying to re-fit the plastic sleeve, due to the sharp drum aperture!

A new hose will hopefully be arriving tomorrow, and would welcome any advice especially as the plastic sleeve doesn’t seem very secure when in place.

    Kind regards

Ah I knew my tube of KY jelly would help someone someday. I’ve no use for it these days. 🙁

If that is the best an “Appliance Master” can come up with, perhaps he shouldn’t comment?

Oh lighten up Jonny. The collar just needs a little ‘lubrication’ for ease of fit. KY an excellent lubricant but Fairy Liquid will do.

Yours sincerely ‘The Appliance Master’ 😉

    Ha, ha,

I managed to nick the new hose’s inner lip on the tub radius when fitting the new, modified plastic collar, and don’t wish a repeat; hence this query.

Have found that the above collar is a difficult and tight fit, (even with fairy liquid) so will de-burr the tub and try again with a little more fairy liquid, although I realise other lubricants are also available.

    Kind regards

    Jon
