That switch is listed for the CTD40 onwards, it is not listed for the CTD00 model range, wiring to float switch is different.
The wiring diagrams show a different set up for the CTD00 and the CTD40/80/85.
Do a part number search HERE with C00095596 then check the model numbers, the CTD00 is not listed. Do a search for the correct part number C00205873 and you will get no results. 🙁

No it’s for a tcm580 which replaced the ctd model and the wiring is exactly the same as I’ve fitted loads.wiring different?? On new machines there is a 2 connection microswitch fitted on the old ones 3 connection fitted part finder is 100 percent that when product knowledge comes into it

These are the wiring diagrams for the CTD00 and the TCM models, the wiring is not ‘exactly’ the same. The wiring on the CTD00 range is different from ALL the later models from CTD40 onwards. If the replacement switch has only two connections then it shouldn’t really be fitted in place of an original 3 terminal switch.
Regardless, I do have one of the ‘correct’ parts if you still want it Alan.

Apart from the C00095596 also being out of stock there and virtually everywhere else can you show me a screen from Connect that says that part is suitable for a CTD00 ?
I don’t have a Connect account so can’t check myself.
There must be some reason why all spares web sites and all Hotpoint spares and tech info say that switch is not suitable for the CTD00. I have one on the way so can’t really comment further until I have them both in my hands. 🙂

Thanks guys for all the help. Why Connect don’t list this switch as a replacement for the original I don’t know, but it certainly doesn’t come up in the list of spares for the CTD00 on Connections.
Jim has kindly offered me one he has in stock and I have ordered the one Kaibart has highlighted for comparison.October 26, 2017 at 8:45 am #451397iadom

Checking several old, hard copy manuals last night.
The only reason I suspect there may be a difference is due to the heater, the element was reduced from the 2.5 kw on the machines using the C00205873 microswitch.
The later models using the C00095596 switch had elements reduced to 2.3 kw.
Won’t know until I have both types to compare but it is always possible the load rating is different on the switches. ❓

Was able to ‘contrast and compare’ today. 🙂
The load ratings of both switches are identical.
The metal arm is at a slightly different angle but a little bending would soon sort that.
The only real difference is the position of the three terminals, the NO/NC terminals are wider apart on the C000955596.
Some of the earlier models did have a moulded plug to fit the wiring to the switch so that would mean fitting new amp tags at the worst.
