Customer removed the door to clean, he was unable to get it back, I have been trying today, by putting 2 small nails (where the pins go) it won’t work as they stop the hinge going into the lower grove…the customer thinking of buying the proper pins but can’t see how they are any different to using small nails…
looking for any advise please. John
Hi,
The hinge “arms” have to be extended as if they were still in the oven and the door fully opened. The pins stop the springs from pulling the arms towards the top of the door. Hope that makes sense. It’s hard to explain.
the pins are just like allen keys in shape and size, but rounded off. (allen Keys will work just as well. I think you are not extending the hinges far enough to get the pins in the correct holes. Its quite a nasty job. I use mole grips just barely on the hook of the hinge to stretch them back. Take care, and wear gloves.
