    Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone will be able to give me a solution!
My dishwasher has died and I want to replace it but all the modern dishwashers seem to come with the anti flood fitting which is far to large to fit onto the Y connection I have. My washing machine water inlet and dishwasher run off the same fitting hence the Y connector.

I don’t suppose there is a converter of some sort which I could connect the dishwasher inlet to and then connect to the original Y fitting? I know this will negate the anti flood but I don’t have any other choice!
    Thanks
    M

    Hi

    Yes, there is this connector.

But before you go down that route and introduce another potential joint which could lead to a possible problem in the future there may be an alternative solution.

Not all dishwashers have the aqua stop some still have the traditional hose. Are you looking for a freestanding or integrated dishwasher? Is it to be a full size or slimline ? What sort of budget?

    Hi Don,

I was looking at a slimline dishwasher bosch or indesit. they both have this connector. I’ve looked at others too and they all seem to have this – apart from a belko one but I didnt really like it.

    Budget no more than £400.

Thanks for the link, I’ve looked at it. Would that fit onto the new hose and then the other end go onto the cold water inlet?

This is the connector I currently have which comes off the cold feed and the washing machine and dishwasher connects to it.

Yes it will fit onto the existing dishwasher hose and the aqua stop 🙂

Is this a freestanding or integrated appliance.

thank you! It will of course make the water hose very long but I guess that will still work.

    It’s freestanding

    Hi

All the Bosch freestanding do have the aqua stop. I have I believe found a Hotpoint SIAL11010P which does not appear to have the aqua stop.

If you cannot have the plumbing altered then it’s probably going to be the only option if the Hotpoint does have the stop.
