    Hi

we have a WVG30461GB; it’s less than two years old and still covered by the John Lewis warranty, but if there’s an easy fix I’d rather not have to wait for a visit.

Typically, it’s happened while I’m out of the country for 4 weeks. If there is a quick fix, please type slowly because my wife doesn’t read technical stuff very quickly! 😆

Basically, she closes the door, selects a cycle and presses start; the solenoid tries to lock the door three times but just releases. She’s tried resetting the power (by switching off sockets at the fuse box- getting access to the back is a major mare); also doing the reset for the child lock hasn’t helped.

Any ideas would be appreciated; it could me a mechanical fault with the door interlock (not sure how it’s controlled- is there a microswitch?) but if it’s just out of sequence, surely the reset would have worked… Ho hum.

    Thanks, Andy

The ‘Start/Reload’ function only requires the lightest touch so maybe that is the issue. Other than that intervention not to be recommended and best contact John Lewis for a fix under guarantee.

Thanks. I’ll ask her to try a light touch; you never know.
