This may be a simple question, but it was too technical for Hotpoint’s live chat, who were only interested in sending out an engineer.
Hotpoint HUI612P electric cooker — the lower oven door is sagging due to the hinge screws working loose. There are two hinges, on the left edge of the door. Each hinge is secured to the cooker body by two screws. These screws need tightened.
The lower hinge is the problem, as the screws seem not to be accessible without removing the lower oven door. I think the door should be removable if I remove the upper hinge. The screws for the upper hinge are accessible from the front, but I am afraid to remove them in case I cannot reinsert them, eg. if a nut is involved and could fall down inside the cooker.
My question: can the screws for the upper hinge of the lower oven door be removed and reinserted from the front of the cooker, without having access to the inside of the cooker?
Thanks for any hints.
