My Beko condensing tumble drier has started cutting out. I found my lodger had been using it and not emptying the water tank. He was using it with the tank overflowing. Could this cause the tumble drier to cut out even with the tank emptied or otherwise harm it? TIA

It shuts off automatically if water tank is full so to be honest it should make no difference, as it stop & can’t be used until emptied.

It seems to cut out now even when the tank is not full. The water had overflowed so I’m hoping this couldn’t have damaged the dryer at all? The dryer was working on and off when I found the tank overflowing and it hadn’t automatically shut off.

there will be a sensor in the water tank that detects when its full. a lot of dryers use a float which can stick. you need to strip and check it
