I have had a company ringing asking me to carry out a repair for them,They offered to pay up front when asked.

    Re: Appliance and Domestic

I declined a service request from them a few weeks ago. The terms and conditions they submitted with their request didn’t make much sense and weren’t to my liking.

The address they give is a virtual address. The official company name is The Appliance Alliance Limited. They were incorporated around 18 months ago and there is no financial information on the public record. The correspondence address at Companies House is a semi detached house in North London. They have had a whole series of director changes which raises some questions about their stability. They are currently on notice for compulsory strike off due to non-submission of statutory return.

Their logo suggests that they are trying to pass themselves off as Domestic & General. When I spoke to their client he told me he had switched from Domestic & General due to lower pricing but he seemed distinctly unimpressed with how Appliance & Domestic had responded to his request for service.

    Hi.

I did some work for this company back in Febuary and are still waiting payment.
Seem to get passed around and as of today nobody answering the phone.
    Sounds dodgy.
    Chris.

We have done around 5 jobs for them and they pay upfront each time before we attend

Unfortunately there are so many of this type of company around that I now always insist on the labour paid upfront or I won’t attend.

I honestly think if you agree to go there without securing payment beforehand your chances of receiving any money are virtually nil.

Bear in mind these companies almost certainly won’t be around in the next 12 months.
