    Hi,

First time poster here. Hopefully its ok to post this type of question here.

I have the above tumble dryer and i purchased it around 2013/2014

It has a IRCA element fitted. I recently bought a new element from espares and the new one slightly different in design but a DBK heater.

Hotpoint have stated the DBK heater is 2.05KW but my original (IRCA) one is 2.3kw.

It has a A$ sheet of paper within the new element that says the PCB needs to be reprogrammed to say it has a DBK heater.

Does anyone know the consequences if i don’t get this done?

    regards.

    Dom

If the instructions are as specific as that then only a fool would ignore them. :con:

Temperatures could be compromised, cooling down time could be different. You would certainly have no warranty on the new element and may damage your dryer to boot.

Hi, Thanks for your reply iadom.

I did think that the settings most likely were a little different such as you have pointed out. I have sent the element back to the supplier now.

Hotpoint want £120 to come out to fix.
I am searching for the correct element now the pre-superseded one.

Hit the ” shop now for spare parts tab ” top right of this page. It’s our own spares shop I’m sure they will be able to help.
