    Hello

My Hotpoint oven stopped heating up sufficiently a while ago. The grill is fine. The heat for the fan oven is very low and takes ages to cook anything now.

Yesterday I took out the grill element thinking it was the oven element (duh). I should say that I think it was the grill element – I took it out because I could see no other element to remove!

My problem is finding the oven element. Also, the id tag for the model number has worn off so i cannot know which model I am looking at! All I know is its a Hotpoint.

Sorry, not much to go on I know.

I will attach a pic here now.

Every youtube video I find, shows a thick ring stuck behind the fan – but mine has nothing of the sort. There is a suspicious looking wire hanging off to the right – but it doesnt have the connector or anything to suggest it might be what I am looking for. It also seems ridiculously puny to be a heating element!

Please assist me – I have tried everything and its kind of starting to annoy!

    Many thanks,
    DJ

yours is a convection oven that’s fan assisted

there is another element under the floor. you will have to take the back off the oven to access it

it uses both elements to heat the oven

Plus, that thing hanging down is the thermostat. It should be secured up and away from the fan in that small clip you can see at 1.00 o’clock. 😉
