the door normally opens a bit during drying and has stopped that. Now it wont close for starting new programme. Is that motor fault or door catch. Just checked with miele cost of new motor £200.

don’t know this machine so just commenting on your description
you say it may be a motor fault but you don’t say which motor. if its the wash motor I cant see the logic in that
you also say the door opens a bit during drying. if that is the case it sounds like the door catch has a motor or some sort of actuator. most dishwashers wont start unless the door is locks and most units will lock and unlock even if no power is supplied to the machine
if the door wont latch I would look there first. strip unit and inspect and try to understand how the door latch system worksDave
