So, after a successful cycle yesterday morning, in the afternoon, the dishwasher just doesn’t respond at all. No lights are on the front panel (there’s only five single LEDs) at all and the device doesn’t do anything.
Tried reset: nothing
Checked power socket: works OK
Checked Plug fuse: continuity OKEven if the door is open, the lights tend to be on, so I don’t think its the door latch. From googling, my guess would be that the Thermal Fuse/NTC sensor has gone,, which appears to be part 165281. There’s a youtube video for changing this on a bosch and it seems to involve taking the entire device apart. Is there anything I can do to diagnose this further before doing such an involved process and buying a spare part?
Apart from anything, will a thermistor problem cause no light to be on the device at all? Is there another fuse somewhere I should check?

it not the thermistor.
light should be on anyway even if thermistor had failed. if you are certain of the socket you might well be looking at a main pcb failure

Is there any way to be sure of that before I shell out 88 quid for a new control module?

well I would open it up and have a look first. If you find evidence of blown electrical tracks there may well be other problems in the machine that caused it

Itβs usually the voltage rectifier circuit and beyond the powers of most to repair. New control unit π

Thanks folks, so I found the unit available on Amazon for cheaper: there’s no obvious blown tracks. I can always return the new unit to amazon if it doesn’t solve the problem.

I would carefully read Amazon’s return policy as attached π
The module will come in a Bosch sealed bag usually of a yellow tinge this in turn will come in a security sealed brown box. Like all spares suppliers they cannot risk sending a potential faulty spare part which has been returned by a previous customer. Not only that but in fitting it you could have corrupted the board rendering it useless.
So you need to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure it is the part you need.

Fair enough: no one has yet answered the question though: how can I be sure that the board IS the problem?

since the board will light as long as power is applied to it you have to make sure the board is getting mains live and neutral. As long as that is the case then the board is the most likely fault. most boards have a power supply section to produce 12volts or so for the board. if this has failed then you will get no lights
in this game you can never be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and I cant guarantee success without inspecting it myself.

Just to follow up: I got the new controller, replaced it, and it seems to all be working fine. Thanks to all who helped!
