grill element is on continuously, even before setting timer clock. If power is on at the wall, the grill heats. Its not a ‘glow red’ type heat, though its definately on!
Electronic controls, no energy regulators/function swicthes, instead a pcb control.
Live is linked from mains terminal to all components (fan, elements, bulb, cut out etc). All the switching seems to be done through the pcb via Neutrals. The grill circuit is literally a loop from the mains terminal to the pcb. No other route for any live or neutral feeds to intefere.
Possible causes:
1) Faulty relay on PCB allowing a small amount of current through? The relay does actually click ‘on’ though and seems to fuction normally when the grill function is actually selected.
2) Slight Earth leakage on grill element? Because the element is ALWAYS fed a live straight from the mains terminal, the Earth is completing the circuit and energising the element?
Any thoughts please? Ever had a similar problem? Getting close to xmas to make a decision. Doubtful I could get element or relay replacement in time anyway tbh.
Cheers all and merry Christmas in advance.

Cheers Dave.
The model # was: AKZ507December 20, 2017 at 3:24 pm #452474electrofix

have sent you the wiring info and parts list but that’s all wpool list
as for your theories
1 relay letting power through. if a relay let power through when it is not energised it normally goes short circuit which would mean the element would glow. if as you say its just warm that would mean the relay acting like a resistor which would mean it gets hot. Or the relay is closing and opening turning power on and off to the element acting like a simmerstat
2 slight earth leakage. only valid if customer does not have an RCD as it would trip at 30mA if fitted

Just wanted to tidy this thread up for others whom might search it.
New element cured it.
