Hi. Our AEG Lavamat Turbo 16830 washer dryer is taking a long time to dry things. On a drying cycle the heater and fan run for about five minutes then they stop and the drum keeps spinning slowly. After about five minutes the heater and fan run for a minute or two then stop while the drum continues to spin slowly. It continues like that until the timer completes.

How long should the heater and dryer fan normally run for during a drying cycle ? After two hours clothes are warm but still damp.

I’ve checked the condenser which is clear of fluff. Replaced both temp sensors. Checked both thermal cut outs and they have 240v both sides. Heater resistance seems ok.

It’s behaving like it’s heating up too quickly. Any ideas ?

    Thanks

    Andy

The fan should run continuously once started.

Ah, that’s what I thought – thank you. I just found it was a faulty dryer fan motor.

I replaced the motor and it worked fine. Water had leaked from near the dryer fan and corroded the motor.

For future reference – there were no error codes. The fan motor and heater just stopped and started intermittently.
