    Hi,
    We have an LG washing machine F1256QD. The drum starts to turn and then starts jerking. We have checked the motor and windings and brushes.
    Anyone any suggestions?

    but he said it has brushes and the brush motor does not have a hall sensor as far as I know

    Sorry about the misleading brushes part of the top post. The question was posted on my behalf by a work colleague. It is a direct drive motor.

    I wondered about the carbon brush comment but I did check before I posted, it came up as direct drive so hall sensor.

    I fitted the hall sensor today and the machine is working perfectly.
