ISE drier CD60W. Serial no:- 083620342425.

Cuts out (completely dead) on long cycles but when left off comes back to life a short time later. Everything checks out OK and ran for 30 mins yesterday with no faults. The safety stat on the heater according to the wiring diagram appears to cut the neutral feed so I think I’m looking at replacing both the cycling and safety stats.
UKW shop shows two stats for CD60; safety stat as 135deg. and another stat 150deg. The red spot stat I assume is the safety and looks the same as the 135deg red spot in the shop view. If that is correct, what rating is the cycling stat or is the red spot the cycling one; the 150deg being the safety as you would normally expect?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Hi Steve, I know you have obviously checked everything is clear….. sounds like the stats are just doing their job. I have had a couple of these with jammed heater relays that, once heating, have continued to heat during the cycle when the heater should be off and even at end of cycle and with the door open. The only way I found it was by using a clamp meter and kept opening the door while it was heating and on about the 5th go it stuck, overheated and the toc cut the power to the pcb hence the dead machine. Relays are replaceable with a bit of soldering knowhow. Cannot remember which one exactly it was but will be obvious when looking.

Thanks Mark! Ordered a new relay and hope that sorts it. Also got me thinking about the Bosch condenser drier that is doing exactly the same – I posted a Tech question only the other day. Spooky if it’s the same fault on both machines.
    Cheers for your help.

    Steve.

Replaced the relay on the board and all has been well until today. Same as before – cuts out after a period of use. Looks like stats or PCB. Any other pointers welcome.

since as you say the stats cut the board off can you measure stats from plug to board when it has cut out or look for mains going to the board

trying to find out if its the stats stopping everything , still may be other things causing it but it would be nice to find out what is shutting it down
