ParticipantHi folks,
Hoping someone can advise. I have a 5KG Beko WMB51021W which has stopped working. I came to it after a programme and the cancel/end LED was flashing but it had completed. After this each time I turn it on the cancel/end LED is still flashing and the ready LED is on. Pressing start turns off the cancel/end LED, switches on the wash LED but eh ready LED does not go out and the machine does nothing. For about a week a “hard” close of the door would then turn off the ready LED and the machine would wash. This has since stopped working. As the hard door close made it wash I assumed that the door mechanism was gone. Having replaced it it still does not do anything. This seems to be a very obscure machine as all google searched and youtube videos are for other models which have very different light and button combinations. Beko themselves are being as useful as a chocolate fireguard, so I am hoping someone here may have a suggestion.

when you say you have replaced the door mechanism do you mean the door handle or the electronic lock ?

could be a worn door hook just not pushing it far enough over. check the door handle is not out of place in the door. Try pushing the door handle after you push start

Thanks for the suggestion but no luck sadly. I did take a video of the problem if that helps anyone. I think even if i could figure out how to put the thing into diagnostic mode at least I could eliminate some possibilities. The filter was full but cleared that, unless it has made the pump faulty.

Thanks Dave. Have taken pump apart and it is clear and seems to turn ok. Might have to get a pro in as I am fed up of throwing money at it. I assume holding start and turning the dial to cotton puts this into a diagnostic? I can’t seem to get it to do anything else once I have done this (no drum tests etc). The other strange thing is that the water inlet hose seems to hiss with air when I disconnect. I have tested the pipe and water is certainly flowing through the pipe

Just an update. Changed the lock, the brushes and checked the pump. Have looked atvthe pcb and there is a chip with a hole in it……connected to the door lock pin…..may well be the cause lol

that’s likely the door triac. normally caused by the door lock going bang and can be a direct result of slamming the door
