ParticipantHi newbie to forum looking for some advice on a new washing machine.
We have 3 kids (5, 3 & 3 months) so the machine is on quite a lot and ideally want something with at least an 8kg capacity and 1400 spin. Our current LG machine has lasted about 4 years of approx 10-12 washes per week.
We don’t really want to spend more than £400 and have seen several Bosch (WAQ284S0, WAN28201) and Samsung (WW80J5555, WW80J6410) models around that figure. Are these suitable machines for us or are we better off saving some money and going for a Beko or Zanussi (ZWF81463 – slightly concerned this doesn’t appear to have a filter)Given the amount of use it would get is it worth blowing the budget and going for the Miele WDB020 as it might save in the long run, however it only has a 2 year warranty?
Apologies for the numerous questions, any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

one of the biggest problems in this trade at the moment is sealed tubs. For some reason when they make a sealed tub it is more likely to fail than the none sealed ones probably due to poor design and components. from the machines above
Bosch WAQ sealed tub
Bosch WAN not sealed
Zanussi ZWF sealed tub ( has got a filter but its not easily accessible)for my money the miele will always be top but have had good life out of none sealed tub Bosch machines in heavy use situations

What about the selected Miele’s that currently have a free 5 year guarantee?
Depends what you want to pay, as you could get the Miele WDD030 with a free 10 year guarantee. I’ve just ordered it, found it on-line much cheaper than local showroom & they price matched. John Lewis confirmed that they would price match too.
Family of 4 so I need a robust reliable machine.

Thanks for the responses guys, are the lower end of the miele range ( WDB020, WDD020) still worth going for or would a Bosch WAN model be just as good, albeit potentially more likely to fail sooner and thats the reason for the lower price? (wife is on maternity leave at the moment so trying to keep costs down at moment, great timing hey!)
Thrombel – do you mind me asking where you found the miele cheaper? most places i’m looking seem to be around the same sort of prices
Thanks

Authorised Miele dealerSiemens has got a 8kg 1400rpm model on 5 year guarantee at the mo. John Lewis – £499. Realise its out of your budget but you may be able to pick this up cheaper elsewhere. Don’t forget John Lewis price match too.
