Hello, we moved into a 300 year old cottage last year and have had to locate the washing machine and dryer upstairs. It’s a very uneven floor on some very old beams. I’ve shored up the floor with some levelled 18mm ply and put the machine in the corner but it still makes the whole upstairs shake. We’re looking at the LG Centum machine which seems to have very little vibration from its ‘house of cards’ adverts. It’s was more than we wanted to spend replacing our existing machine (a 4 year old hotpoint ultima) but if it’s the only way to stop the crazy shaking we’ll have to go for it. Does anyone know of any other very low vibration models please?

I doubt you’ll cure that in any event, they all need a pretty stable base, the more stable the better.

But it sounds like you’re getting they vibration resonating through the flooring and I very much doubt you’ll solve that problem. You *might* lessen it a bit but highly doubtful that you’ll solve it.

LG have a bad history of vibration so I hardly think that a good choice TBH. My Siemens machine is very stable, hasn’t moved at all since I slid it in position and adjusted the feet 3 years ago. Mind you it sits on a solid floor. If it were upstairs in your house and under those conditions all your pictures would shake off the wall at the very least.

Time for a rethink on location I would suggest 😀

Thanks for the replies. I’ll try a more robust reinforcement of the floor and if there’s no difference we’ll have to look at relocation.
