Can anyone advise at to what may have happened?
I have replaced the Element in the oven today following online video instructions. I have used a genuine replacement element. When turning the oven on the element is getting so hot it is glowing red and going over temperature. I am sure I put the wires in the correct way . If I did not would this cause this or has the thermostat also gone. Concerned as it did not trip the electric when it got so hot.
Any ideas?
Thanks
if there are only 2 wires and poss an earth wire to the element it does no matter which way round the main wires go
if the element went with a pop it is possible the thermostat contacts have welded together. if you set it to 50 degrees and it gets hotter than this very likely the stat
Thats a Vestel made on Dave, I need the 22 digit serial number to work out what’s in it as there are about 30 odd variants of it, two thermostats used depending on product batch.
