ParticipantHi I have a problem with a Bosch WTE84106GB/48 which I have replaced 3 belts on in about 18 months. Every time I change them I take the drum out to check if anything is causing it but everything is fine. It was manufactured in 2016 but is used in a laundry room used by 15 flats so Bosch wouldn’t touch it. Am I missing anything on this?
Thanks

Used use by 15 flats!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is commercial use of a domestic machine and use by users that dont give a f*** because its not theirs. Landlord buying wrong tool for the job a bit like we have all seen at the busy pub that wants a cheap second hand machine because “its only for the bar towels and kitchen stuff”. Bosch are right to keep well away, I cant see your doing anything wrong so if your getting paid and you’ve made the landlord aware of the facts and they are happy to carry on then carry on but don’t give any guarantee. The landlord has to balance continued repair costs against a commercial machine cost.

Overloading probably, tearing the belt up, very common on the commercial ones.

Yes you make good points it’s definitely overworked there. It’s in a home for old people, they have 2 Bosch washing machines and 2 dryers. The other dryer is exactly the same model but 9 months older and the belt hasn’t failed once. Thanks

Too bad you didn’t mention that earlier to prevent the banging on about commercial usage stuff. 😉
Look then toward removing the drum and greasing the front roller shafts. The main drum shaft and the jockey pulley. Check also the motor belt drive grooves are clear of burnt rubber.
It is a 1992H7 belt you are replacing isn’t it?
