Hi,
I am sending this email in desperate need of some help as we are completly baffled by our oven. We have an Elba c96df range duel fuel cooker. The cooker is in no way overused and is in immaculate well looked after condition. Suddenly we became aware of a burning smell coming from the right hand side of the cooker around the ignition switch, we opened up the cooker and could see nothing obvious and the cooker and oven continued to work. Couple of weeks later the ignition switch failed so I replaced it along with the function selector switch as a closer look showed both with signs of age. The oven came back to life but only worked for 1 week and then stopped in the same way. We then replaced the thermostat and once again the oven began to work and once again worked only for 1 week then stopped again.
We can’t understand what else could possibly be causing this and have now spent £100 on replacing parts. Looking for any advice as to what this could possibly be and how to fix.
Am thinking possible wiring issue or spark generator (dont know if this would cause this fault) but is at side where burning smell was strongest. Temperature of oven appeared correct with thermostat so don’t think was overheating.
Any info out there?
cheers
