ModeratorAnyone seen this before, new to me.
I was actually doing a rear drum shaft and belt replacement on this machine, a TDC 30.
After completing the repair, I switched on and it ran perfectly, switch off with the timer knob, motor stops but I can hear the relay buzzing and it is still energized. Open door and relay switches off. Customer says, it been doing that buzzing for ages.Almost certainly a timer fault ( none electronic model ) but another one for the memory bank. 😮

no they do stay energised until the door is opened as some dryers when off do the intermittent tumble…
they relay is only a means of interlock for when door is opened.
i got puzzled at first when i heard a coil buzz but quick look at drawings and a new relay later all sorted….
cheers recallMay 5, 2005 at 5:42 pm #133725iadom
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Condensor relay?
I have been to two other TDC30 dryers since the original call for unrelated faults. On both of them, if I switch the timer control to off,
the relay switches off instantly. There is no intermittant tumble on TDC 30 models and I have returned to the original machine today, had a look at the user manual and there is no mention of this facility. I have also contacted a former colleague who still works for Hotperloni ( over 30 years ) and he also agrees that the relay should de-energise as soon as the timer is switched off on this model.I will continue to monitor all TDC 30 dryers to see if this is the norm. It may be that the two that did switch off, have impending relay failure due?

I am puzzled by this question too?
Boy! how I wish I could afford the £15 it costs to buy a manual just so I could check the wiring diagram for myself. 👿
If only PARTFINDER (11 Issue4) had the wiring diagram included eh, then we would all have the answer to this conundrum :rotfl:

ans:—-
b4 d.c. 94 the relay coil was feed from the ON/OFF on the timer and after d.c. 93 it was feed directly off the live in to the timer (no switch).
as per manual 5405770 is/2
sorry cant get diag on here…..but on timer it move from c10 to b10 basically….

Lucky blighter to have all that info on his Laptop 😥
All I’ve got is a bl**dy Partfinder CDRom that tells me there are no parts available at all for an Indesit W113UK 👿 (There are many such ‘anomolies’ on ‘Issue Four’ but I have lost interest in noting as I stumble through it)
“Live Partfinder” now, I like the sound of that idea….I want one!!

Martin
Also DWF30P has “no parts found!”
