I have just bought and fitted a new element for the main grill on my Diplomat ADP5520 double oven and realised that the outer part of the element does not get hot – same problem as before which is why I bought a new one thinking that the existing one was faulty. There are spaces for additional wires at the back of the oven where the element connects which could possibly be the problem but I can’t see a wiring diagram anywhere so I don’t know. Can anyone advise and if so can I buy and fit a connecting wire myself as I know it’s a 30 second job if I know where the wires go. I don’t really want to get an engineer out as this is such a tiny thing. Thanks, Ben

take a picture and post it on the site of the connections you have
I assume its a double oven model, if yes select the top oven and see if the outer gets hot
also some cookers have a half and full grill setting, on the half setting only the inner will work
