Hi guys I am having trouble with a Lamona WD (same as integrated Bosch & Smeg) which keeps overheating the TOC. I have cleaned the condenser, fan and heater area. The airflow feels strong. While testing it on a drying cycle it has just gone into a full sustained spin for several minutes while blowing hot air. It then stopped for a few minutes without turning at all. I have had this on two of these previously on machines that kept overheating, a Siemens and a Lamona after opening up the heater chamber. This can’t be normal can it? It must be causing the overheating surely?
    Thanks for your help

    Re: Smeg/Lamona WD

if your are testing it empty it will spin on dry cycle….. don’t ask me why. Have you a model number? never seen a Lamona version of a smeg. Have you defo had that condenser off and cleaned it? scraped fluff off the concave fan blades? checked the inlet valve when its hot? check also for fluff build up around the ntc on the door seal duct from the heater. I have also changed the toc itself to cure this as a poor connection in that can produce its own heat and trip it out.

Whoops I should’ve included this HJA8702, i replaces the NTC today (before it spun), it had a decent load in it when it spun, I thoroughly cleaned condenser fan and heater area. However I didn’t check the valve after use for a while and replacing the TOC sounds promising if it fails again. Wow thanks for confirming spinning during a drying cycle is normal, I thought it must be PCB related.
Thanks a lot, I will keep you updated

Update on this one, replacing the NTC has sorted it.
    Thanks a lot, Darren
