    Hi Guys,

My Zanussi ZKG 7145 doesn’t seem to be draining.

The machine was left to run overnight, when I came back in the morning the machine was ‘beeping’ at me. Usually errors are accompanied by an error code (E10, E20 etc) but on this occasion it simply says Err.

There was a bit of water left in the drum, maybe about an inch or two. I drained the majority of the water out of the front ‘drain pump’ and set the machine on a ‘dry cycle’. This cycle completed ok but there must have been a bit of water that I hadn’t drained as everything came out wet again.

I ran another quick wash cycle today before leaving for work in the hope the cycle would drain the remaining water, it didn’t, it ‘beeped’ again and gave the same error code, there is a significant amount of water in there now.

My thoughts are that the pump could either be faulty or possibly even just blocked. The machine is making an unusual low humming noise when started now.

My main issue at the moment is that I do not know where or how to check the pump on this machine. The user manual is pretty useless.

Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this? Appreciate any advice.

You’re right Dave, thanks and apologies for taking up your time.

I’d skipped down to ‘what to do if….’ and because the pump and ‘water release’ are the same component as opposed to separate as with every other machine I’ve owned, I was looking for something else.

It was of course an easy fix once this obvious oversight came to mind.
