I have had a call to the above machine that’s not draining.

The drain pump impeller has is wrapped with hair. After stripping the pump and removing as much hair as possible the machine works for about 8 months before the problem reoccurs.
The replacement pump is about £80 but I’m reluctant to replace it as I think it will still get bound with hair.
The customer has a long haired cat as well as a long haired daughter who diesn’t want a shorter hair style!
I repair machines in several hair dressers and have not come across this problem. Is the pump on this machine prone to this?
Are there any products that would dissolve the hair to make sure it’s completely clear? I have found Vamoosh which is for pet hair so thought it might be worth a try.

Would connect pmp998 fit?? Looks similar but not listed as alternative. If it would its a lot cheaper and an askoll pump so may be more reliable plus if it goes again you can just replace the motor. Alan

Well spotted, I think you could be right. Apart from the difference in the filter which shouldn’t matter I think this might do the job.

I am still interested if anyone knows of a way to dissolve the hair though.
