Had a blocked air chamber on an LG today, first time in ages. Luckily easy to get at but most modern machine air chambers are inaccessible . Twenty years ago hardly a day would pass without pressure tube faults. I know there are design changes but not vast changes so why dont we still get this job ? Whats the chemistry / physics behind it ?
Bigger chambers now, maybe? I remember Graham Dixon advising putting some nuts through the small opening of the chamber and shaking them around to clean off the sludge. 1980’s/90’s Hoover machines spring to mind. These days I seem mainly to come across the problem with Miele washing machines – Immer Besser of course!
