Washing stops midway through washing cycle

Hello,

I have a John Lewis JLWM 1604 Washing machine of which it has recently started stopping part way through washing cycles. When it stops, the Start/Pause button light would be flashing. I therefore have to press the Start/Pause button again for the cycle to recommence again. I may have to do this four separate time during the wash cycle until the complete cycle ends. Can anyone let me know what the root cause could possibly be?
